There’s nothing like a good Sci-Fi flick to put you at ease. You’ll be able to get away from the world and have a load of fun in the comfort of your own place. Here are nine science action films.
Star Wars (1977)
Director: George Lucas
What started out in 1977 has continued into a phenomenon over the past 4 decades. Crazy how this movie was very close to not coming out due to the over-budget. Epic lasers, air fights, and the force have become pop culture.
This was definitely Will Smith’s breakout role. He went from the tv series comedian to a serious, dramatic actor. Independence Day showed his range and definitely put us in this mindset, “Here’s a guy who can really act.”
The Matrix (1999)
Director: The Wachoskis
This is one of those films that changed the course of everything. From the infamous “bullet time” camera trick to just this futuristic world that still resonates to today, Keanu Reeves definitely set a precedent.
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
Director: James Cameron
”I’ll be back” is a phrase etched in our minds from 30 years ago. With state-of-the-art computer graphics and a nice cybernetic touch, Arnold Schwarzenegger got us in that futuristic zone.
The Fifth Element (1997)
Director: Luc Besson
Here’s another blast into the future with the setting in 23rd century America. Bruce Willis showed that love and care could save humanity even in the most dire of times.
Men In Black (1997)
Director: Barry Sonnenfeld
While set in 90s, it showed that the Earth is much smaller in the grand scheme of things. Will Smith definitely did his thing and continued to get into his bag with the alien prototype.
Back to the Future (1984)
Director: Robert Zemeckis
The whole transporting to different time periods was revolutionary in this movie series. With both Michael J Fox and Christopher Lloyd in the film, it makes for quite the “Great Scott” moment.
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
Director: Anthony Russo, Joe Russo
Superheroes, multi-dimensions, and different sets of times, you have a well-rounded flick. This is by far one of those movies you got to wrap your head around twice.
Jurassic Park (1993)
Director: Steven Spielberg
1993 was incredible year. Bringing back dinosaurs in a modern setting? Genius. Shoutout to Steven Spielberg.
